    Bob D. Weirich, 75, of Dalton, died Friday, January 29, 2010 at Shady Lawn Health Care Community in Dalton following a period of declining health.

    He was born in West Lebanon on August 24, 1934 to the late Floyd J. and Alma G. (Bailis) Weirich and married Betty Douglas on October 30, 1975. She died August 7, 2001.

    He retired from Smuckers in Orrville and was a member of the Wayne County Sheriff Reserves for many years. He previouly served as the fire chief in Mount Eaton and was a former member of the former West Lebanon Luthern Church.

    He is survived by children, Jeff (Shelly) Weirich of Kidron and Lori (David) Troyer of Dalton; step-children, Etta Lowe of Wooster, Laberta (Alvin) Books and Tina (Tom) Simon, both of Navarre; five grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; one great grandchild and five step great grandchildren.

    Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 AM at the Spidell Funeral Home in Mount Eaton with Rev. Lee Anderson officiating. Burial will be in the Westlawn Cemetery in Mount Eaton. Friends may call on Monday from 6-8 PM at the funeral home.

    In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Wayne County Sheriff Reserves, 201 W. North Street, Wooster, OH 44691.
