John J.C. Miller, 81, of 8188 TR 656, Fredericksburg, died Monday, February 1, 2010 in the emergency room of Pomerene Memorial Hospital in Millersburg after being taken from his home.
He was born in Holmes County on November 4, 1928 to the lateJoe C.D. and Emma (Wengerd) Miller and married Mattie A. Stutzman on September 15, 1949. She died July 20, 1993. He then married Sarah W. Miller on October 24, 1995. She survives.
He was a retired farmer and a member of the Old Order Amish Church.
In addition to his second wife, he is survivd by children, Emma (Henry) Miller of Howard, Ammon (Sarah) Miller of Middlefield, Lydia (Dannie) Raber of Howard, Andy (Fannie) Miller of Lakeville, Amos (Mary) Miller of Big Prairie, Fannie (David) Yoder of Dundee, Roy (Ada) Miller of Apple Creek, Edna (Atllee Jr.) Mast of Fredericksburg, Esther (Nathaniel Jr.) Hershberger of Sugarcreek, Roman (Ella) Miller of the home, Mattie (Paul) Mast of Holmesville and John Jr. (Effie) Miller of Fredericksburg; eighty-seven grandchildren and one hundred seventeen great grandchildren; four brothers, Andy (Elizabeth) Miller, Cornelius (Mattie) Miller, Ammon (Lydia) Miller and Abraham Miller, all of Fredericksburg; five sisters, Sarah Raber of Howard, Anna Hershberger of Fredericktown, Mattie (Aden) Yoder of Westby, WI, Emma Miller of Apple Creek, Ada (Roman) Yoder of Fredericksburg; and a sister-in-law, Mattie Miller of Fredericksburg.
In addition to his first wife, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Crist and Joe; three sisters, Mary, Amanda and Edna; two grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 9:00 AM at the family home with Bishop Eli A. Mast officiating. Burial will be in the Miller Cemetery in Paint Township, Holmes County. Friends may call anytime at the family home. Spidell Funeral Home in Mount Eaton is handling the arrangements.
