    Deanna L. Geiser, 71, of Kidron, died Monday, February 22, 2010, at Akron City Hospital following a long period of declining health.

    She was born in Millersburg on December 9, 1938 to Harry and Marcella (Malone) Phillabaum and married Dennis D. Geiser on March 23, 1957 in Angola, IN. He survives. She was a 1956 graduate of Berlin High School and had lived most of her life near Kidron. She was a homemaker and had previously worked at the former Osteopathic Hospital in Orrville, served as head cook at Shady Lawn Nursing Home in Dalton and as an aide at Wooster Community Hospital. She was a member of the Kidron Mennonite Church.

    She enjoyed watching all sports including the Indians and Cavs and especially enjoyed softball tournaments at the Kidron Park.

    In addition to her husband, she is survived by five children; Karen (Edgar) Gaspard of Kaplan, LA, Rodney Geiser of Kidron, Ronda Geiser of Kidron, Marcia (Joe) Eggleston of Orrville, and Ty (Diane) Geiser of Orrville; twelve grandchildren; nineteen great grandchildren; a sister, Norma Jean Kamp of Orrville; and a brother, Ralph Phillabaum of Berlin.

    She was preceded in death by two sisters, Dorothy McCauslin and Maxine Phillips; and three brothers, Leonard, Cloice and Carl Phillabaum.

    Family graveside services will be held on Wednesday at the Kidron Mennonite Church Cemetery with Pastor Thomas Dunn officiating. There are no calling hours. Spidell Funeral Home in Mount Eaton is handling arrangements.

    In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Kidron Community Park, P.O. Box 111, Kidron, OH 44636.
