    Wilbert G. Douglas, 75, of Massillon, died unexpectedly on Saturday, February 27, 2010 at Aultman Hospital.

    He was born near Dalton on July 7, 1934 to the late Clair F. and Mabel P. (Knerr) Douglas and married Barbara J. (Mankin) Bixby on January 4, 1990. She survives. He was a US Army Veteran and retired in 1989 from Superior Brand Meats. He was a member of the Lenepe Trail Sportsmans Club and a lifetime member of the the Elks 441.

    In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons, Michael (Brenda) Douglas of Massillon, David (Bridget) Douglas of Canton and Mark (Ruth) Douglas of Brewster; two step-children, Jim Bixby and Jean (Ed) Yanok, both of Canton; eleven grandchildren and four great grandchildren; a sister, Charlene (Denny) Pastor of Canal Fulton; two brothers, Robert (Leslie) Douglas of New Philadelphia and Dean (Candy) Douglas of Massillon.

    In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant brother, Clair; and a step-son, Russell.

    Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 AM at the Spidell Funeral Home in Brewster with Pastor Dale Boston officiating. Burial will be in the Dalton Cemetery. Friends may call on Monday (Today) from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the funeral home.
