    Ada H. Kendle, 97, of Winesburg, died Sunday, March 7, 2010 at Walnut Hills Nursing Home following a period of declining health.

    She was born in Winesburg on February 20, 1913 to Gotleigh and Mary (Rothaker) Kochenderfer and married Wilbert J. Kendle on March 1, 1932. He died November 6, 1986.

    Ada lived all of her life in Winesburg and was a member of the Zion Reformed Church in Winesburg and the Winesburg Historical Society.

    She is survived by a daughter, Joan (John) Shaheen of Westerville; a daughter-in-law, Lucille Kendle of Winesburg; four grandchildren, Jeanine Kendle of Wooster, Mike (Beth) Shaheen of Hebron, Jeff (Arlene) Shaheen of Carmel, IN and Chris (Claire) Shaheen of Worthington; and five great grandchildren.

    In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Robert; two brothers and four sisters.

    Following her wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 AM the Zion Reformed Church in Winesburg with Pastor Jason Strong officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to services at the church. Spidell Funeral Home in Mount Eaton is handling the arrangements.

    Memorial contributions may be made to the Zion Reformed Church or the Winesburg Historical Society.
